Rep. Paul Broun: Is the Bible Really the Final Authority?

Anytime you share something that was done by one political party you open the door to a lot of emotion and criticism. Especially, one month prior to a major Presidential election. But let me say up front, that this post is not about either political party. It is not the goal to lift one side and slam the other. Rather, I want to share something that a person – that is a Republican said about the Bible, and the outcry it has caused.

Georgia Congressman Paul Braun said the Bible is to be trusted and used to make all of life’s decisions. He went further to say that evolution, embryology, and the Big Bang Theory are not in the Bible and therefore he concludes, they are lies. And he is being mocked and laughed at pretty harshly.

For a moment, forget whether you agree or disagree with his political party. Take your eyes off that bizarre deer head wall behind Rep. Broun and listen to what he is saying about the Bible.

Can we really use the Bible to determine the way that we should go and respond to things in life? Can you marriage really find direction in the Bible (Yes)? Check out the video, I would love to hear from you. But let me start the conversation by responding with the words of Hebrews 4:12-13,

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.<

Note: We will talk about that deer head background in another post. LOL.
