It has been a struggle but I am glad to say that I have thus far lost 20lbs and I am looking forward to losing an additional 30 in the next 5-6 months. It definitely has not been easy with the temptations ranging from candy, packaged foods, high sugar content drinks, fast foods, etc. and the list goes on. It has taken me a while to get the weight off but I am still on the journey called life. The foods we consume daily take a toll on our everyday lives and we have to be conscious at all times or we fall prey to the way we use to eat. In order for me to have reached this milestone I have had to:
- create a daily food journal – highly recommended
- eat every two to three hours whether it is some fruit, crackers, nuts, etc. in small amounts. Water is also essential in order to keep me hydrated.
I am also happy to announce that I will be running my first half marathon next year and I am training for that as well. I am currently at the stage where I take brisk walks and check my mileage, heart rate, etc. in order to reach my daily goals. I know I have a lot to do but at the same time I am taking it in strides because my pace is very important and I am confident about the results.
Whenever I hit a roadblock I am reminded that quitters never win, not that I want to win, I just want to finish. This chapter of my life is exciting because I am doing one thing after the next…never a dull moment in the Green household, LOL. My family is very supportive and for that I am truly grateful because it means a lot for them to understand why I do the things I do.
Throughout this journey I am thankful that God is at the head of my life and the decisions I make and if it weren’t for Him I cannot fathom the me I would be. Keep praying that I continue on my weight loss journey and pray especially that I am able to complete the half marathon injury free.
Thanks and God bless!!
