Your spouse may not change – they may not even need to, from God’s perspective. So seek God this week for ways to grow closer to Him to allow you to be free in an unchanging situation. Whether things change or not, Christ has already set you free, so keep standing firm in Jesus Christ.
The article I thought all week about writing just wasn’t taking shape. Then, I was reading Edward’s recent post about his family being more important than all the things that make the to-do list. Now, I just want to ask you all a question: What IS most important? What’s it all about?
Scripture clearly states [...]
Today is the 61st annual National Day of Prayer. According to the official website, this year’s theme is One Nation Under God, which comes from Psalms 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.
There will be hundreds of prayer events throughout the country, you can go to the website to [...]
I began writing this post from the bedside of my 4 year old. He broke his arm 10 hours prior, playing flag football and at that time we were waiting to find out if he would need surgery. Well he did.
So now 1 surgery and 1 screw later, I am face to face with [...]
I’d love to have a chance to talk to whoever it was that said men aren’t supposed to cry. For some reason, it seems like society has become convinced that only women have emotions and if a man shows emotions, he must be feminine rather than manly. Except anger, of course. Anger is different – [...]
From the beginning of your marriage, it is important that you and your spouse are always honest with each other. Seemingly little untruths or hidden secrets can destroy your marriage very quickly. As you and your spouse walk together down the road of marriage, you must be totally truthful about everything from finances to daily [...]
It is always so important to remind ourselves that Scripture is not a magic bullet. We still have to live out our lives, when we close the Bible, get in our cars and show up on our jobs and go through our day. But the more we can get the Word in us, the more we find strength to deal with life – differently – with peace.
It is not a matter of what Scriptures we should use in specific situations – almost like a band aid over a cut. Rather, when challenges come, what is already in a person’s heart? Because when life squeezes us, only what is inside will come out. So whether we sow an abundance of reality shows and idle time into our hearts or God’s Word, what is in us is what is coming out.
For many men there can be a level of anxiety that always is present when it comes to leading our family. That anxiety typically revolves around either not having a father as a role model or not having a good role model to pattern themselves around. So how does a man lead what he has [...]
One of the most frequent questions that people ask is, “How do you hear from God?”. I can’t help but think of the reality show, The Voice. The judges sit in big chairs, with their back turned to the singer and they listen to the voice of the singer. They don’t get to use their [...]
